When it comes to safety, Audi vehicles have earned some of the industry's highest marks. Recently, the 2020 Audi A6 Allroad was named a 2020 IIHS Top Safety Pick+. This is the highest rating available from the Insurance Insitute for Highway Safety.

A Rare Feat

Out of the hundreds of vehicle models tested by the IIHS, only a handful ever earns the Top Safety Pick+ rating. A vehicle must score a top "Good" rating in all six crash safety tests to qualify for this rating. These tests include small front overlap collision evaluations on both the driver and passenger sides, moderate front overlap, side-impact, roof strength, head restraints, and seat performance. In addition to these top crash safety ratings, the 2020 A6 Allroad also earned a top "Good" headlight rating. That's thanks to the 2020 A6 Allroad's standard Matrix-design LED headlights.

Driver Assist Features Add To 2020 A6 Allroad Top Marks

The A6 Allroad earned a "Superior" rating on both front crash prevention tests thanks to its standard forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking systems. These systems are part of Audi's Pre sense® system, which can help protect a vehicle when there is an impending crash. For instance, the Pre Sense system can close the side windows and panoramic sunroof and tighten the front safety belts right before an impact. Another top driver-assist equipment on the 2020 A6 Allroad include lane departure warning and a 360-degree surround view system that uses an array of cameras to create a virtual look at the world around the vehicle.

A Tradition Of Top Safety

For decades, Audi has been an innovator of safety. That's thanks to the company's incredible focus on putting the most advanced technology on the vehicle. Also, Audi vehicles are designed to thrive in all weather conditions. As the company continues to innovate its luxury vehicles, Audi is expected to create more advanced safety and driver-assist features.
